The
Best Sunrises on Phuket's Beaches:
Chalong
Sunrise

The east side of
Phuket is not as well known for its beaches, but if you enjoy a
sunrise stroll it is the place to be. This photo is just off
of Fisherman's Way about one kilometer south of the Chalong
circle.
You can also get there by turning towards the
Chalong Pier (east) at the Chalong circle. Keep an eye out for the
Brahminy Kites (see the
bird watching
page) that cruise the coastline there and many of the coastal
areas in the area.
From the most
southern tip of the island all the way up to the bridges to the
mainland - there are a variety of beaches and seaside areas - that
are home to magnificent sunrises. Phuket will reward you for
getting up early and checking out the sights!
Chalong is a good
place to start as - if you head south - you'll get to walk by some
very nice houses that sit right on the beach with views of the bay
islands. Further north on the island are even better views of other
bay islands - fantastic to watch the sun come up over them.
The eastside of
the island, particularly up on the northeast, is beginning to
develop and as it does so you will have many new choices for
breakfast or a rest after your sunrise beach walk.
Go, enjoy - and
don't forget to take your camera!
