Where on Phuket is it?

You haven't really seen the island until you can say where these two photos were taken.

Shot number one is in a neighborhood of at least ten houses of almost exactly the same design!  Just one little street and all these super impressive houses - that, unfortunately, all look the same.  Very nice houses though. Only in Thailand!

Shot number two: a nice sea view - where is it?

It's worth renting a car when you come to Phuket as there are surprises on every part of the island.  Little hidden neighborhoods as the one above - to be found only when you drive by and look down the street. 

Where are their areas of Phuket?

  They are everywhere.  You can drive in any direction, turn down a side road and it is likely to be filled with surprises.  From quaint traditional villages to traditional Thai houses to a multi-million dollar estates, some even out in the middle of nowhere.

If you only stay in the tourist areas, you really haven't met Phuket.  The island isn't so big and you can see most of it in just a couple days of exploring.  Get out there and take a look!  You'll be glad you did and you'll love the island and Thailand even more once you get a better feel for the place.
