Religious services: Buddhist,
Muslim, and Christian are all available on the island. Finding
services in English are no longer difficult - though at a few churches you
may be provided with an interpreter who will sit with you for the full
length of the services. Notice also that many services are for 1.5
to 2.5 hours.
Mosques are common in Muslim communities of the island and a
fellow Muslim would be welcome during prayer times or during the special
weekly services. Mosques are more
easily found in Kamala, Bang Tao, and the northern part of the island.
They are less common, but can still be found in Patong and the southern
part of the island.
Buddhist temples abound on the island. Just ask when you drive by -
I'm sure all are welcome.
